About These Websites

The Wild and Scenic White Salmon River is located near Bingen, Washington just across the Columbia from the town of Hood River, Oregon. This incredible river travels south through a beautiful gorge with several class III and IV rapids and the super fun class V Husum Falls. Above this section there are also many miles of class IV and V rapids and water falls in the upper reaches of the canyon. These runs (Green Truss and Farmlands) are favored by expert kayakers from around the region.

The Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area is nearby and chock full of recreational activities. This area is famous for wind surfing, kite boarding, hiking, mountain and road biking, rafting and kayaking. There are incredible vistas, beautiful wildflowers, wineries to tour and excellent museums (Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, Maryhill and Skamania Lodge) for those less adventurous.

The river is 90 minutes east of Portland, Oregon, 3.5 hours southeast of Seattle, Washington or 1 hour north of the Mt. Hood recreation area. This area of southern Washington, just east of the Cascade crest has great weather throughout the spring, summer and fall with warm to hot sunny days.

For information on guided river trips contact All Star Rafting. They are one of the primary outfitters in the area offering quality guided river trips.
